Experience lifelike sound quality with the XS-GS1720S GS Series 2-way speaker system. The composite MRC woofers and aluminum dome tweeters run through the integrated 2-way crossovers to deliver studio quality performance. This speaker system also provides incredible frequency response with outstanding dispersion and beautifully clear highs. The 6.5" woofers use Mica Reinforced Cellular (MRC) fibers for supremely light and extraordinarily rigid woofer cones while high energy magnets control cone travel and power handling. Additionally, these speakers are rated for 75 watts, 120 watts RMS (CEA 2031 rated) and can handle peak power of 350 watts.
Two-way design
The
Sony® GS series speakers deliver incredible frequency response with outstanding dispersion and beautifully clear highs thanks to the MRC woofer, soft dome tweeter and external 2-way crossover.
High energy magnets
The GS series speakers use high energy magnets to control cone travel and power handling. The midrange woofer uses powerful Ferrite magnet while the aluminum dome tweeter uses rare earth, compact Neodymium magnets.
Power handling
The XS-GS1720S speakers are rated for 75 Watts, 120 Watts RMS (CEA 2031 rated) and can handle peak power of 350 Watts.
Aluminum dome tweeter
The GS series tweeters solve placement issues by providing adjustable angle positions to help create a direct path from the tweeter to your ears so you get incredible high-frequency response.
External crossover
GS series speakers use precision crossovers to match the frequency response capabilities of the drivers. The 2-way, 5000 Hz crossover feature a 12 db/oct high-pass filter (HPF) and 6 dB/oct low-pass filter (LPF) to ensure smooth music transitions.
Warranty
The
Sony® GS series speakers come with a 3 year warranty.
6.5" MRC woofer
The GS series woofers use Mica Reinforced Cellular (MRC) fibers for supremely light and extraordinarily rigid woofer cones. MRC woofer cones produce exceptional musical transients with little distortion compared to traditional cone materials.
Bi-amp design
Bi-amp speaker systems use separate power inputs for each component of the 2-way speaker system. This lets you drive the speaker system with dedicated power for the High Pass (HP) and Low Pass (LP) channels instead of sharing the power.
